The British Council is the United Kingdom’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities: the business of building trust and understanding between nations. The British Council’s office in Jordan is one of over 100 worldwide. It was established 65 years ago as the second overseas office and remains one of our most important operations today.

We work in three key areas: Arts, English and Education and Society, with a focus on young people. The themes of ‘employability’ and ‘voice’ cut across all the work we do:

employability – to support young people to achieve the education, qualifications and skills needed to maximize their potential in their future careers

voice – to create and develop new networks and platforms to give young people a voice in society.
