Royal recognition

The Queen Rania Outstanding UK Learner Awards honour students who achieve top marks in the IGCSE, International GCSE and GCE exams set by Cambridge Assessment International Examinations and Pearson Edexcel in addition to inspirational teachers.

The awards were established with the support of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, who is keen to foster and honour the development of excellence in education, both in Jordan and internationally.

Culminating in a prestigious awards ceremony each year the Queen Rania Outstanding UK Learner Awards have been celebrating student success since 2003.  

Partnership with the British Council

Working in partnership with Cambridge Assessment International Examinations, Pearson Edexcel and the Ministry of Education in Jordan, the British Council has been involved with the Queen Rania Outstanding UK Learner Awards since its inception. 

Our partnership aims to develop the quality of the IGCSE, International GCSE and GCE curriculum teaching and assessment, as well as to provide guidance and support to teachers.

Queen Rania Outstanding UK Learner Awards 2018 ceremony

The British Council celebrated on 18 December 2018 the winners of the Queen Rania Outstanding UK Learner Awards 2018. 128 students of the British Curriculum have been awarded at the Ceremony with 28 students achieving top in the world rankings (among the top 10 in the world).

On this note, the British Council’s Country Examinations Manager, Mrs Ameera Manna’ commented “The role of the British Council has always been vital and supportive of the UK International Curriculum in Jordan. In 2017 we introduced the updated version of the Partner Schools Global Network (PSGN) initiative which aims at providing support, development and recognition to our different stakeholders, schools, students and parents through different tools and channels like training, events, competition, conferences, materials and many other.”
