We are pleased to announce that from 8 February 2026, all IELTS tests will be delivered on computer, providing a faster, more efficient and streamlined testing experience. IELTS on computer offers the same test format, questions and scoring as IELTS on paper. IELTS on computer also provides significant benefits to test takers at no additional cost:

- Faster booking: Book your test as late as one day before registration closes.

How does IELTS on computer work?
If you choose IELTS on computer, you will take the Listening, Reading and Writing sections on a computer at one of our official test centres. The Speaking test will remain face to face with a trained IELTS Examiner, as we believe it is the most effective way of assessing your speaking skills.
All other aspects of the test are exactly the same, whether it is taken on paper or on computer, including:
- Content
- Timings
- Question types
- Scoring
- Speaking test delivery
- Test Report Form
- Results Verification
Please note: if you have any special requirements, you will need to take paper-based IELTS, which caters to all test takers regardless of requirements.
